Feeling Stuck?

What’s Really Happening When You’re Feeling Stuck

1. You’re trying to eliminate risk completely. You want to be sure you won’t regret the decision. But most meaningful decisions come with tradeoffs.

2. You’re treating the decision like it has one perfect answer. This creates pressure to “get it right,” which makes it harder to move.

3. You’re mixing thinking with feeling. Part of you may already know what you want—but another part is pushing back.

A Simpler Way to Think It Through

Step 1: Define the real decision. Be specific.

Step 2: Identify the tradeoff in each option. Ask yourself:

  • What do I gain?

  • What do I give up?

Step 3: Separate fear from reality. Ask:

  • What am I actually worried will happen?

  • How likely is that?

  • What would I do if it happened?

Step 4: Choose a direction, not a forever answer. Most decisions are not permanent.

A Different Way to Get Clarity

If you want a clearer, more structured way to think through your specific situation, you can try a Clarity Session. You’ll answer a few quick questions and receive:

  • a clear summary of your situation

  • what’s really driving the difficulty

  • realistic paths forward

  • practical next steps

Final Thought

Being stuck doesn’t mean you’re bad at making decisions. It usually means:

  • the situation matters

  • there are real tradeoffs

  • and you care about the outcome

The goal isn’t to eliminate uncertainty completely. It’s to understand it clearly enough to move forward.
